Duette® honeycomb blinds · London
Duette® blinds: the original
honeycomb blind.
A Duette® blind combines refined design with proven thermal performance. Its honeycomb structure delivers insulation, light control and visual elegance in a single blind.
KOZA Projects specifies, makes to measure and fits Duette® blinds for homes across London, from living rooms and bedrooms to conservatories, skylights and gable windows. Family-run and established in 2005, we work with private clients, interior designers and architects.
Duette® blinds were originally developed by Luxaflex®. Fabric collections can be seen, and motorised systems seen working, in our Shoreditch showroom.
Duette® at a glance
The honeycomb
What is a Duette blind, and how does the honeycomb work?
A Duette® blind is a pleated blind formed from a unique honeycomb design. Unlike standard pleated blinds, its cells trap air within the blind.
That honeycomb construction creates an insulating barrier at the window, helping to reduce heat loss while keeping a clean, architectural appearance.
How the honeycomb works
- Layers of fabric are arranged into cellular pockets
- The cells hold air, forming an extra layer of insulation between the glass and the room
- Interiors stay warmer in winter and cooler in summer
- Outside noise is reduced
Why Duette®
Why choose Duette blinds over other pleated blinds?
Duette® blinds are specialist blinds. They are chosen as a long-term solution, not a decorative upgrade.
Cords concealed in the fabric
Unlike standard pleated blinds, Duette® blinds conceal the operating cords within the fabric using Pure™ technology. This improves child safety and gives a cleaner finish.
Energy saving and durability
As specialist blinds, Duette® blinds outperform many alternatives for energy saving and durability.
The benchmark honeycomb
Originally developed by Luxaflex®, Duette® shades remain the benchmark for the honeycomb structure, in bespoke formats designed to meet modern architectural demands.

Conservatories and roof blinds
Duette blinds for London conservatories and roof blinds
A conservatory is one of the most challenging environments for any blind. Duette® blinds are particularly effective here because of their insulating properties.
Used as roof blinds, they help insulate large glazed areas, reducing glare, managing heat loss and improving comfort through the year. Duette® systems are also made for skylights, roof windows and shaped glazing, and we have fitted them to gable windows and roof lights across London. See our page on skylight and roof blind systems.
Where Duette® performs well
- Conservatories and glazed roofs
- Skylights and roof windows
- Gable windows and other shaped glazing, as at our Homerton House project
- Large glazed areas and period windows
- Bedrooms, media rooms and living spaces
Light control and privacy
Light control, blackout and privacy options
Duette® blinds come in light-filtering and blackout fabrics. Blackout options give excellent control without compromising the honeycomb design, and a brush attachment on the headrail is designed to minimise or eliminate light bleeding from the top of the blind.
That balance of light control and insulation suits bedrooms, media rooms and living spaces where performance matters, as a single blind in place of two or more layers.

- Blackout fabrics
- Top-down bottom-up model: one of the Duette® models, lowered from the top for privacy below with daylight and the view above
Colour and fabric
Colour, fabric and Duette Silk finishes
A wide selection of colours is available, from neutral tones to expressive shades. Duette® fabrics are engineered to hold their pleat while keeping a soft feel.
Premium finishes such as Duette® Silk add visual depth while preserving the honeycomb configuration and its performance.

Energy efficiency
Energy efficiency and thermal performance
Made to measure Duette® blinds are highly energy efficient. The honeycomb structure helps to reduce heat loss and improve insulation, creating an energy-saving buffer at the window in cold seasons and keeping the room cooler in summer.
That makes Duette® blinds one of the most effective thermal blinds available for residential glazing. The level of insulation depends on the fabric chosen, and we advise on this at the consultation.
What the honeycomb does
- Reduces heat loss through the glass
- Reduces heat gain in summer
- Adds an insulating layer of air at the window
Electric Duette® blinds
Electric Duette blinds and smart home integration
Duette® blinds can be specified as electric blinds with motorisation and remote control, and can be integrated with a smart home system such as Google Home for seamless daily operation.
Motorisation improves accessibility while keeping the movement of the blind smooth and controlled. It suits tall windows, skylights and rooms where cords are best avoided. For motors, power and control in detail, see motorised and smart shading.

Common questions
Frequently asked questions
What are Duette blinds?
Duette® blinds are honeycomb-structured pleated blinds. The fabric is formed into cells that trap air, which insulates the window, reduces heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer, and gives a neat, soft appearance.
Do Duette blinds reduce heat loss?
Yes. The honeycomb cells create an insulating layer of air between the room and the glass, which is why Duette® blinds are often chosen for conservatories, large glazed areas and period windows. The level of insulation depends on the fabric chosen.
What does top-down bottom-up mean?
Duette® blinds come in several models, and top-down bottom-up is one of them, chosen according to the model you prefer. A top-down bottom-up Duette® blind can be lowered from the top as well as raised from the bottom, which lets you cover the lower part of the window for privacy while keeping daylight and the view at the top.
Can Duette blinds be motorised?
Yes. Duette® blinds are available with motorised operation, controlled by remote, app or a home automation system, which suits tall windows, skylights and rooms where cords should be avoided. See our page on motorised and smart shading.
Can Duette blinds be used on skylights and shaped windows?
Yes. Duette® systems are made for skylights, roof windows, gables and other shaped glazing, with tensioned frames that hold the fabric in place at any angle. We have fitted them to gable windows and roof lights across London.
How do you measure for Duette blinds?
We take all measurements ourselves as part of our Measurement and Consultation visit, so you do not need to measure anything. During the visit we look at each window with you, discuss fabrics, linings and how the blind will operate, check the fixing and any ceiling or recess details, and record the precise dimensions we make to. The visit covers London and the surrounding area.
Is a Duette blind always the right choice?
Not always. A honeycomb blind is chosen for insulation and a soft, pleated look. If you want to keep a clear view through the blind, a screen fabric on a roller blind may suit better, and where a room needs to be as dark as possible a zip-tension dim-out system goes further. We say so at the consultation.
