What Is the Silent Gliss Metropole Curtain System?

The Metropole system is a hybrid decorative solution that operates internally like a track, while appearing externally like a curtain pole. Traditional curtain poles typically required rings which would slide along the pole to operate the curtain. One of the key Metropole features is its internal gliding channel, which allows curtains to be hung directly from discreet gliders, removing the need for curtain rings.

This design allows a standard curtain or a more engineered heading to move smoothly along the track, delivering a seamless and quiet glide suitable for high-quality residential interiors. 

Metropole System: Curtain Pole or Curtain Track?

The pole combines two traditionally separate systems. Externally, it reads as a decorative pole, complete with decorative finials and visible brackets. Internally, it operates like a track, using two-component gliders that ensure consistent movement along the length of the system. This makes the Silent Gliss metropole curtain track ideal where designers want the elegance of a pole with the reliability of a track.

Simply put, the Metropole tracks offer the look of a pole and operates with the efficiency of a curtain track system.

Silent Gliss Metropole 30mm: Diameters, Corded, Uncorded & Motorised Options

The most commonly specified option is the 30mm metropole (7610) , offering a balanced proportion suitable for the majority of residential applications. Pole diameters available in 23mm, 30mm, 36mm and 50mm allow the system to be scaled depending on curtain weight, span, and visual intent.

All  available profile diameters are available with an uncorded operations while the 30mm and 50mm can be operated via cords and if the motorised curtain option is only available with the 50mm profile diameter. 

This range ensures Metropole products can be specified discreetly or with greater architectural presence, particularly where heavy curtains or wide openings are involved.

Gliders, Internal Gliding and Smooth Operation

One of the defining Metropole features and internal gliding advantages is its concealed running system. The Metropole curtain pole incorporates an internal gliding channel with gliders operating within it, using a quiet two-component glider system that absorbs vibration and delivers an ultra-quiet glide when operating your curtains.
