Made to Measure Curtains in London, Cut for Your Window
Made to measure curtains · London
Made to measure curtains
are cut for one window.
Each curtain is planned around the width of the window, the ceiling height and the room around it. Nothing is taken from a standard size.
KOZA Projects designs, makes and fits made to measure curtains for homes across London. We take every measurement ourselves, make the curtains by hand in our own London workroom and fit them with our own team.
You can see fabric collections and heading samples in our Shoreditch showroom. For the design side, read about our bespoke curtains.
How we work
What it means
Made to measure curtains, designed for the room
Ready-made curtains come in set widths and drops. A made to measure curtain is planned for one window, so the fullness is balanced, the hem sits correctly and the curtain operates smoothly.
Fabric, lining, heading and track are chosen with you for each window. For how we design and specify them, see our bespoke curtains, and for who makes and fits them, our curtain makers in London.
Decided for every window
- Fabric and colour
- Lining and interlining
- Heading style and fullness
- Length and hem
- Track or pole, and how the curtain operates
What measuring settles
Fit, fullness and hem, planned from the measure
The measurements decide how a curtain looks and operates. We record them at the visit, then make to them in our workroom.
Width and drop
Each curtain is planned for the width of the window and the ceiling height, so the proportions suit the room rather than a standard size.
Fullness and hem
Fullness is balanced for the heading and the fabric, and the hem is set so the curtain sits correctly once it is hung.
Track and recess
We supply and fit Silent Gliss curtain tracks, bent to bay windows and recessed into ceilings where the design calls for it. Fixing, ceiling and recess details are checked at the visit.
Before anything is made
The Measurement and Consultation visit
You do not need to measure anything. We take all measurements ourselves as part of our Measurement and Consultation visit, which covers London and the surrounding area. The visit comes with a fee, which is credited in full if you go ahead within 90 days.
We look at each window with you, talk through fabrics, linings, headings and how the curtains will operate, and record the precise dimensions we make to. If you would rather start by seeing fabric, book a showroom visit.
At the visit
- Each window is looked at with you
- Fabrics, linings and headings are discussed
- Fixing, ceiling and recess details are checked
- Precise dimensions are recorded for the workroom
Working with designers
Made to measure curtains for designers and architects
We work alongside interior designers and architects, making to the designer's scheme and joining the project early when ceilings, recessed tracks or motorisation are involved. Designers and their clients are welcome at the showroom by appointment.
Early involvement
Recessed tracks, concealed headings and motorised curtains need decisions before ceilings are closed. On our Ealing house project the recessed tracks were coordinated with the architect from an early stage.
Fabric and suitability
We advise on fabric choice and suitability for the make. On our Whitechapel penthouse project we worked with the interior designer on exactly that, then managed survey, manufacture and installation ourselves.
Motorised curtains
Motorised tracks are coordinated with your electrician or AV integrator. See our motorised and smart shading page.

Common questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between made to measure and ready-made curtains?
Ready-made curtains come in standard widths and drops and are adjusted to fit as best they can. Made to measure curtains are cut and finished for your window, planned around its width, the ceiling height and the architecture, so the fullness, length and hem are right. At KOZA they are made by hand in our own London workroom.
How do you measure for made to measure curtains?
We take all measurements ourselves as part of our Measurement and Consultation visit, so you do not need to measure anything. During the visit we look at each window with you, discuss fabrics, linings, headings and how the curtains will operate, check the fixing and any ceiling or recess details, and record the precise dimensions we make to. The visit comes with a fee, which is credited in full if you go ahead within 90 days.
Which areas do you measure and fit in?
Our Measurement and Consultation visit covers London and the surrounding area, and installation is carried out by our own team. If you would rather start by seeing fabric, book a showroom visit.
Can made to measure curtains go in bay windows and recesses?
Yes. We supply and fit Silent Gliss curtain tracks, bent to bay windows and recessed into ceilings where the design calls for it. Fixing, ceiling and recess details are checked at the Measurement and Consultation visit.
Can made to measure curtains be motorised?
Yes. Curtains can be hung on motorised Silent Gliss tracks, operated by remote control, app or a home automation system. We specify the track and motor, and coordinate with your electrician or AV integrator so power is in the right place before the ceiling is closed. See our motorised and smart shading page.
How long do made to measure curtains take?
Lead time depends on the fabric house and the complexity of the make, and we confirm a realistic programme when you place your order. Because our curtains are made in our own London workroom, we control the quality and the timing from fabric arriving to installation.
