Specialist Shading Support for Architects & Interior Designers

Window treatments are easiest to get right when they are designed into the project, not added at the end.

KOZA works with architects, interior designers and contractors across London as the specialist for curtains, blinds and motorised shading. We take the brief from concept to installation: design advice, technical specification, coordination with the project team, bespoke making in our own workroom, and installation by our own team.

KOZA is a family-run company, established in 2005.

When to Involve Us

The earlier, the better. These decisions are simple on a drawing and costly on site:

  • Recess pockets and concealed headboxes
  • Ceiling and pelmet details
  • Power and cable routes for motorised systems
  • Access for installation and future maintenance
  • Fixing positions on large or unusual glazing

Early involvement lets us confirm these while walls and ceilings are still open.

What We Need From You

To advise and prepare an initial estimate, we work from:

  • Plans, elevations and a window schedule
  • The project programme
  • The shading requirement for each room: dim-out, blackout, glare or solar control
  • Ceiling and recess details, and whether they are fixed
  • Any motorisation, and the control system it will connect to
  • Any fabric or system already specified

If some of this is not yet decided, we can help you decide it.

What You Receive

We support the project team as the specialist shading consultant.

  • An initial estimate prepared from your drawings
  • A clear specification for each opening
  • A site survey and precise measurement before anything is made
  • Coordination with your contractor, electrician and AV integrator
  • Curtains and soft furnishings made by hand in our own workroom
  • Installation and handover by our own team
  • Aftercare once the project is complete

Advice given before a site survey is indicative. Final specification is confirmed once we have surveyed the space.

Motorised Shading

Where shading is motorised or connected to a smart home system, we specify the motors and tracks and coordinate with the AV integrator and electrician.

Common Questions

Can you work from drawings?

Yes. We can advise and prepare an initial estimate from plans, elevations and a window schedule. The final specification is confirmed after a site survey.

At what stage should a shading specialist be involved?

Before ceiling, recess and electrical details are fixed, so that pockets, headboxes, power and cable routes can be built in.

Do you coordinate with our contractor, electrician and AV integrator?

Yes. KOZA joins the project team as the specialist shading consultant and coordinates directly with each of them.

Do you make the curtains yourselves?

Yes. Curtains and soft furnishings are made by hand in our own workroom.
